The Pleasanton Meadows Sharks started off the season with a narrow 511-482 loss to Briarhill in Tri-Valley Swim League action. Despite the loss, the Sharks had several swimmers who had great days.
Nick Tucker had a truly outstanding day, winning each individual event he swam and also swimming on the winning 11-12 medley relay. Tucker won the free, fly and IM. Swimming on the relay with Tucker were Jack Miller, Jack Geasa, and Tyler Rhoads. Geasa won the other two individual events in the age group, taking the breast and the back. In fact, the 11-12 boys also one the free relay behind the strong swimming of Michael Azuma, Seth Girvan, Patrick Herz and Tommy Herz to take every 11-12 boys event.. The 11-12 age group was also strong for the Sharks on the girls side. Alyson Isaacs took two individual events (free and IM) and swam on the winning medley relay team along with Talia Florio, Adriana Harris and Haley Isaacs. Also posting 11-12 girls individual wins were Harris (back), Florio (fly) and Alyson Isaacs (breast) In fact, the only event the 11-12 girls didn’t win was the free relay.
The six and under group also had a pair of individual double winners with Courtney Oliver (6U fly and back), Haison Park (boys 6U breast and back). Rounding out the double winners was Brent Werder who took the 7-8 breast and back.
Other Pleasanton Meadows swimmers with individual wins were Joey Geasa (9-10 breast), Amelia Kelly (7-8 fly), Ela Kularni (6U breast) Zachary Lem (6U free), Nathan Shinn (6U fly), Trent Pozzi (7-8 free) and siblings Cody (7-8 fly) and Sidney Vaeth (9-10 free).
The older age groups struggled for the Sharks, but Chris Bush posted a pair of seconds (13-14 IM and breast) and Joey Silva (free) and Grant Sweetnam (IM) took second place for the 15-18 group.
